What is the difference between polyester and recycled polyester?

01

Characteristics of recycled polyester yarn use:

Recycled PET fabric (RPET), is a new type of environmentally friendly recycled fabric , its yarn is extracted from discarded mineral water bottles and Coke bottles made, also commonly known as Coke bottle environmental protection fabric (RPET fabric). This product is waste reuse, so in foreign countries, especially in Europe and the United States developed economies are very popular, used in camisoles, shirts, skirts, children's clothing, scarves, cheongsams, neckties, handkerchiefs, home textiles, curtains, pajamas, bows, gift bags, sleeves, fashion umbrellas, pillowcases, pillows, and so on. The advantages are good wrinkle resistance and shape retention.

Recycled yarn can reduce the use of oil, each ton of finished yarn can save 6 tons of oil, to reduce air pollution, control the greenhouse effect has made a certain contribution.

Recycled polyester staple fiber is the use of polyester fabric, waste polyester bottle chips, spinning waste silk, bubble material, pulp block as raw materials, waste bottle chips after crushing, cleaning, a variety of material mixture after drying, melt extrusion, spinning, coiling, bunching, drafting, curling (while according to the customer's needs in the time of the curling to add different oils), relaxation of the heat-setting, cutting off the formation of polyester staple fibers of different lengths.

Recycled fabrics accept fewer countries, the market is limited the reason for the sudden rise of recycled fabrics, mainly from the European market. Due to the European Union, clothing consumption increases year by year, but the service life of a single piece of clothing is greatly reduced, thus causing a lot of textile waste and pollution.

In France, for example, there is an increase of 9.5 kilograms of clothing per capita per year, but the recycling rate was only about 36% by 2017, and the textile fabric recycling rate across the EU is even lower at about 20%. For this reason, the EU government has ordered a ban on textile waste and asked member states to start specialized textile recycling from 2025 to increase textile fabric reuse rates.

Recycled polyester fabric has the advantages of wear-resistant, moisture absorption, good air permeability, etc., and is now more and more being used in all kinds of clothing, bags, home textiles, toys, furniture and other products. Recycled polyester fabrics are widely favored abroad, especially in Europe and the United States, because they are waste reuse and very much in line with the concept of European and American brands.
